Get to know the NEB Team: Pat Norton

Hi, I am Pat Norton, the Director of Facilities. I've been with Biolabs for six years. So our group of facilities, we both maintain existing and develop new infrastructure. I'm proud to say over that last six year period, we've developed over 200,000 square feet of LEED certified facilities that support our operations. What I find most rewarding about working at New England Biolabs is being part of a team that provides a healthy, safe, and sustainable place to work at, which is even more important during COVID. We're all making sacrifice to come to work every day, not only to create that healthy and safe place to work, but also expand the production of reagents that we're going into the manufacturing of vaccines, helping to save lives, and keep our families healthy.

So I think NEB supports career development by encouraging innovation, which challenges us to develop new technologies, find better ways of working. And that creates opportunities for people looking to gain new experience. So I think a lot of places talk about work-life balance. And I feel like at Biolabs, we found this work-life harmony, where people care deeply about one another. And you develop these relationships that not only support you at work, but also at home when you need it.
